Who are we?
We are an independent, non-partisan, non-governmental organisation
focusing on socio-economic and political issues facing India
in general and Andhra Pradesh in particular.
Friends of India aims to act as a catalyst by providing objective
analysis of issues, from time to time, to develop awareness and
genuine consensus among the Indians in general and in Telugus in
particular. Our goal is to create a healthy atmosphere for
progressive social change by rational analysis of facts and issues
to achieve an all round development of our state and country.
Our work so far includes:
l
releasing a leaflet on the social aspect of Annamayya during the 600th
birthday celebrations of the saint held in

What is the need?
The rational and pragmatic attitude held by the citizens with close
scrutiny and constant hard work collectively contributes to the
success of the civic societies in the developed countries.
Scientific and practical approaches are the key factors in finding
solutions to the societal issues. We are bound to be influenced by
these methods and practices.
To accept and adopt such approaches for the all-round development of
our state and the country is going to be a herculean task. We need
to have a critical and clear understanding of the factors that
affect the social, political and economic changes in our society. By
doing so we aim to influence not only the functioning of our social,
academic, political and civil institutions but also to create
awareness amongst our fellow citizens.
Friends of India sees the above need and works on this mission by
creating such awareness. Educated masses from all walks of life are
the target audience of FOI.
